 What is a campaign?

A campaign is a series of advertisements that are using various of marketing strategies  to ensure that you can promote a business or event to a target audience.

Music Campaigns:

When an artist releases a song or an album, their general aim is to try and reach as many people and get them to listen to the music. One method to do this would be by creating a music video. What this is going to do is allow you to promote your music on multiple platforms as you have now created a song that has visuals to accompany it. The more platforms the higher the chance of people having a listen. So long as you branch out to media as a whole and attempt to promote your song or songs on commercials, billboards, social media etc. Then you will be able to successfully target a much larger audience rather than just uploading a song to the internet. 

For example, when Kid Cudi released his sequel to his previous 'MAN ON THE MOON' albums. He clearly tried to promote his music by posting teasers on social media such as instagram. However, when he finally released his album he had recorded multiple music video which have all had high view counts. But then for further promotion he has then sold other merchandise such as clothing and vinyls to boost his entire campaign.

MY MUSIC CAMPAIGN 

Over the course of this next year I will be attempting to publish a music campaign that will feature a song and a video to hopefully, successfully launch the career of a new artists debut album. 

character sheet

Character.

In my A2 music video I would like for my character to simply be someone who is locked up in their house during lockdown. I would like to be based in a bedroom of some sort that has blue lights in the bedroom and then another colour or shade of light to be entering the room from the windows. 

However, the artist that I had in mind would just be someone who is wearing warn down clothes and is stuck inside of their bedroom. So for my character i filled in a character sheet in order to have somewhere to work from.

Description:

Although this is a very dull description for an artist I just feel as though it is not the artists persona necessarily that is going to make an artist successful in this case. However it is how this artist is going to be presented towards the audience watching. So i feel confident that over time my idea will develop(it will probably change completely).

I believe that this song could easily match along with the Artist that i have created. I am hoping that by having a character that is wearing worn down clothes and having the room lit up the way i am currently visioning it to be then this could be a really good idea for my A2 coursework.
